Windows 96 Lite is a low-bandwidth version of Windows 96 V2 that doesn't require as much system resources or network usage as the regular version. In V3, Windows 96 Lite was moved and can be installed through the Installation Wizard.
Although Windows 96 Lite is a stripped-down version of V2, it is also (sometimes) considered to be early V3.
Windows 96 Lite only has Explorer, Terminal, Package Manager, and Textpad preinstalled on it. However, it has the ability to host a Remote Console and mount P3FS filesystems. It is also the first known version to publicly use the Reset Wizard instead of the reinstall prompt.
